Joëlle Duval, Ph.D., began her career as a secondary school French teacher. After more than 15 years at the secondary level, she pursued graduate studies. She holds a Ph.D. in psychopedagogy from the University of Montreal and a Master’s degree in Education from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. Since 2014, she has been a professor in the Department of Educational Sciences at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. Her research primarily focuses on school–LGBTQI+ family collaboration and on students at risk, particularly with regard to dropout prevention, school engagement, and educational transitions.
