Dr. Zama Mthombeni holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pretoria, her research focuses on higher education, governance, and social justice. Zama has published extensively and presented at numerous conferences. She is a recipient of multiple awards, including the Ubuntu Team Award from the Human Sciences Research Council in 2022 and the National Research Fund Scholarship for her PhD in 2020. Her work explores transformative education and decolonization within African and international contexts.
