Ms. Tsarkou Alexandra

Alexandra Tsarkou is a PhD Candidate at the University of Crete, Greece, researching the teaching of Greek literature and Greek as a second language to incarcerated refugees in prison, with a focus on functional literacy and critical pedagogy. She holds two Master’s degrees, including an MSc in Critical Pedagogy, and has teaching experience in adult and prison education. Her research interests include language education, social justice, critical literacy, intercultural education, and the educational experiences of marginalized and migrant populations. She is particularly interested in exploring education as a means of empowerment, inclusion, and social transformation within institutional and challenging learning environments.
